The Maine Crafts Association announces the launch of Artists in Their Studios, a photography project to document Maine fine craft artists throughout the state in the spaces where they create. Artists in Their Studios seeks to further expose the role and depth of fine craft in Maine, to reach and excite collectors and the general public through imagery which reveals studio life and artistic process of artists working in traditional and contemporary craft mediums. At the same time, the project responds to the ever-changing landscape of marketing and the demands of social media on the business of being an artist by providing artists with professional images and a unique perspective and documentation of their practice.
In the 2016-17 inaugural year of the program, seven (7) artists will be selected from applications received by December 2, 2016. Barbara Burns is one of the selected artists.
