“Innovations: Contemporary Art” on view at Maine Fiberarts
Topsham — A juried show of contemporary art dazzles the walls of Maine Fiberarts’ gallery in Topsham, June 10-September 3, 2016. A reception will be held on Sunday, July 10, from 2-5 p.m., free of charge, and the public is invited to attend.
. Barbara Burns’ woven tapestry “Temptation” focuses on issues of sexual identity and the concepts of “innocence, enlightenment, and liberation.”
The show includes the work of 30 artists—all members of Maine Fiberarts.
Founded in 2000, statewide nonprofit Maine Fiberarts hosts a networking center at 13 Main Street, Topsham that promotes the work of Maine artists, craftspeople, fiber farmers and entrepreneurs. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Friday, 11-4; Saturday, 11-2. Along with revolving gallery shows, the group hosts the Maine Fiberarts Digital Tour (listings free for fiber practitioners) with accompanying News Bulletin and Fiber Folio online.
