Artists in Their Studios Photography Project
I was honored to be awarded a photo shoot from The Maine Crafts Association in 2017 along with several other artists. Their Artists in Their Studios, a photography project documents Maine fine craft artists throughout the state in the spaces where they create. Artists in Their Studios seeks to further expose the role and depth of fine craft in Maine, to reach and excite collectors and the general public through imagery which reveals studio life and artistic process of artists working in traditional and contemporary craft mediums. At the same time, the project responds to the ever-changing landscape of marketing and the demands of social media on the business of being an artist by providing artists with professional images and a unique perspective and documentation of their practice.
In the 2016-17 inaugural year of the program, seven (7) artists were selected from applications received by December 2, 2016. I was one of the selected artists.
